Smart Rings Without a Subscription and What Costs Extra
Find a smart ring without a subscription. Compare RingConn Gen 2, Ultrahuman Ring PRO and Galaxy Ring on included data, paid extras and first-year costs.
A smart ring without a subscription can give you sleep and activity data without another monthly bill. RingConn Gen 2, Ultrahuman Ring PRO and Samsung Galaxy Ring offer basic tracking without a required data membership. Your total cost depends on the features you choose, your phone and the package you order.
We checked the manufacturers' US-facing pages, app listings and service terms on October 4, 2026. This guide compares documented access and costs; we have not tested tracking accuracy. Confirm your size and delivery date before ordering, since stock can change after our check.
What “No Subscription” Includes
Start with the information you expect to open each morning. Can you see last night's sleep stages and review yesterday's activity without starting a paid plan? Those views give a smart ring with no monthly fee its day-to-day value.
The table separates subscription-free smart ring features from optional purchases. Product names open our directory records, with specifications and manufacturer links.
| Model | Required fee for basic data | Included sleep and activity features | Optional paid services | Phone requirements | US purchase status observed | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RingConn Gen 2 | None advertised | Sleep stages, heart rate, steps and stress trends | Optional product protection; terms depend on plan | RingConn app; iOS 17+ or Android 10+; Bluetooth 4.0+ | Page includes an out-of-stock notice and ordering controls; verify size and finish | Oct 4, 2026 |
| Ultrahuman Ring PRO | No recurring fee to access ring data | Sleep Index, Movement Index and recovery insights | Selected PowerPlugs and UltrahumanX coverage | Ultrahuman app on iPhone or Android; current iPhone app requires iOS 16+ | US order page says shipping October 10 onward | Oct 4, 2026 |
| Samsung Galaxy Ring | No separate basic Samsung Health subscription | Sleep analysis, heart rate, walking and running | Optional protection; enhanced or third-party AI may have separate terms | Compatible Android phone, Galaxy Wearable, Samsung Health and Samsung account; selected AI features need a Galaxy phone | US page links to ordering; selected size and delivery need confirmation | Oct 4, 2026 |
RingConn's Gen 2 page states that tracking does not require a subscription. The US Ring PRO FAQ says there is no recurring charge to access ring data. Samsung's Galaxy Ring announcement describes Samsung Health access without a subscription. Its March 2026 terms note keeps basic Samsung AI features free while allowing different terms for enhanced and third-party services.
These service descriptions cover current access. Ultrahuman's lifetime-access wording for personal data leaves separately priced services outside that promise. Budget for the features available today and check future additions when they arrive.

Check the Features You Will Actually Use
Choose two or three things you want from the app, then find their exact names in the manufacturer's documentation. “Sleep tracking” covers several screens. Check whether the sleep-stage view you want is included and whether a particular extra report needs a paid service.
RingConn's app overview describes sleep, activity, stress and vital-sign views. Ultrahuman's Ring PRO feature page includes Sleep Index, Movement Index and Dynamic Recovery. Samsung's current US footnotes attach phone and account conditions to Energy Score and Wellness Tips. Compare the screens you would use rather than treating differently named scores as equivalent measurements.
Some Ultrahuman PowerPlugs Cost Extra
Ultrahuman offers both free and paid extensions. Its US PowerPlugs page listed the following when checked.
| PowerPlug | Listed access cost |
|---|---|
| Caffeine Window | Free |
| Smart Alarm | Free |
| Cycle & Ovulation | Free |
| Cardio Adaptability | $2.90 per month |
| Cycle & Ovulation Pro | $3.99 per month |
The similar cycle-tracking names deserve a close look. The standard module is listed as free; Pro has a fee. The US ring order page also offered Cardio Adaptability at $24 for one year. Check the term and renewal conditions you select. Compare an annual offer with the monthly price over the same period.
Check the App on Your Existing Phone
RingConn lists minimum operating-system versions in its Gen 2 specifications. Ultrahuman has iPhone and Android apps, but its Ring PRO page does not specify an Android minimum. Check install eligibility on your own phone.
For Galaxy Ring phone and account requirements, check the conditions attached to each AI feature. Samsung's setup guide uses Galaxy Wearable and a Samsung account; the US ring page requires a compatible Galaxy AI phone for Energy Score and Wellness Tips. If either feature would mean buying a new phone, include that expense in your comparison.
Separate the Ring, Accessories, and Optional Services
A subscription-free smart ring still needs charging equipment. RingConn lists a charging case and USB-C cable in the Gen 2 box. Ultrahuman's $479 US Ring PRO package includes the PRO Charger and a Type-C cable, with a free sizing kit available to select. Samsung lists a charging case and USB cable for Galaxy Ring, with a wireless charger sold separately.
Before adding a second charger or a protection plan, read the package contents. RingConn's US product-protection terms cover the ring and exclude charging accessories. That plan must accompany a new eligible ring order. RingConn also publishes Care+ terms for a different protection service. Check which plan your order offers and read its exclusions.
UltrahumanX coverage is optional. Record its term and exclusions if you add it; basic ring-data access does not require it.
Work Out the First 12 Months
Use the amount in your own order summary rather than mixing a starting price from one finish with a discount from another. A practical formula is
First-year cost = ring package + extra accessories + shipping and tax + upfront service fees + monthly service rate × months paid.
Count each service once. If you pay an annual fee upfront, put it under upfront services and leave its monthly charge at zero. For a free trial, count only paid months within the first year and write down when billing begins.
For a hypothetical example, imagine a $300 ring package, a $25 extra charger and an optional app service costing $5 a month. These are invented budget inputs, separate from the product prices above.
| First-year scenario | Ring package | Extra charger | App service | Subtotal before shipping and tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic data only | $300 | $0 | $0 | $300 |
| Extra charger and 12 months of the optional service | $300 | $25 | $5 × 12 = $60 | $385 |
Add your actual shipping and tax to the subtotal. For a phone upgrade or protection plan, add its full first-year cost as well. Keep the basic-data total beside the total with your chosen extras.
Check Availability and Support Before Paying
Check the exact ring you intend to receive, including its finish and size.
The RingConn Gen 2 US page showed mixed availability signals on our check, including an out-of-stock notice and a sizing-kit order option. Confirm your finished ring's stock and dispatch date with RingConn. Specifications for newer generations need their own check.
The manufacturer linked from our Ultrahuman Ring PRO record stated shipping October 10 onward on its US order page. That date was still ahead of our October 4 check. Ask for the estimate applying to your order, including any sizing-kit stage.
Samsung's US Galaxy Ring page showed a starting-price offer and an ordering link. Select the exact finish and size to see your price and delivery estimate. We did not complete checkout for any ring.
Before placing an order, save the seller's answers to these questions.
- Can I open the specific sleep and activity views I need with no paid plan?
- Which optional services have I selected, and when do their charges renew?
- Does my current phone support those features in my country?
- Which charger and sizing kit are included in this package?
- Is my finished ring in stock, and when does the return period begin?
If one required feature remains unclear, send its exact name to support before buying. Keep the reply and order summary so you can check the app against what you were promised during the return window.
